Many moons ago sufi travellers of all feathers and stripes gathered in sacred community to share the stories of our journeys at a fabled event called the Conference of the Birds.
Dovetailing with a meeting of the directors of the Sufi Circle Canada at the Bethlehem Centre in Nanaimo, we welcome you to a revival of this soulful assembly.
Gathering in the spirit of love, harmony and beauty we take the opportunity to share, with old friends and new, our varied experiences on the Sufi path of Spiritual Liberty. Realizing that every sufi makes a difference, we gather to explore how far we have come since we first took flight and where this journey may take us next – to remember those who have inspired us, affirm the teachings of the Sufi Message and refresh on practices of assistance in daily life.
No matter what your experience or past or present Sufi affiliation, you are most welcome to join this gathering of loving friends on the path, to consider how we can work in harmony to keep the Sufi Message alive in this part of the world.

FEE SCHEDULE:
Saturday Dinner 5:00PM
Saturday evening zikar 7 pm (by donation).
Sunday gathering 10 am - 4 pm. including lunch prepared by the retreat centre - $36
Sunday gathering 10 - 4 pm. suggested donation of a minimum of $15 to help defray room costs.
Staying at the Bethlehem Centre for Saturday night in a private room (with shared bathroom) would be $150 which includes dinner, breakfast and the Sunday lunch, or for $120 per person when two people share a room. It is also possible to stay off-site but join us for Saturday evening dinner (5:30 pm) for the cost of $27.50.

PROGRAM:
You are welcome to take part in a Saturday night zikar (singing zikar of Inayat Khan) followed by a day of sharing, nature meditation, chanted wazifa practise, breathing, prayer and Dances facilitated by long time sufis including Fazulunnisa Carole Harmon and Jelaluddin Gary Sill (Vancouver), Nirtan Carol Sokoloff (Victoria), Akbar Lody Kieken & Sharda Murray-Kieken (Qualicum Beach). You are also welcome to attend the Sunday activity only.
